- On-the-spot Admissions: First-year students can get admission through the on the spot admission centers at various centers. Students should carry all the original educational certificates, ID proof and, required fees and Passport size photos for admission. Students looking forward to getting admission through the on the spot admission centres should also carry a complete set of copies of all the documents.
- Single Window Admissions at University: Students can approach the admission centre located in the IDE Building of Chepauk Campus of the University with all documents. The admission centre is open from 10 AM to 5 PM from Monday to Saturday.
- Online Admission
Interested students can apply for the desired course through online mode. The application form can be downloaded from the university website http://ideunom.ac.in/pdf/ug_pg_admis_2019.pdf, and after registration, they can fill the application form online. Once the registration process is completed, they can take the print out of the acknowledgement and pay the admission fee by online and submit to the University.

The Madras University Distance Education Cell offer programs in two academic sessions. A candidate can join a distance learning program in either the June to May academic session or the January to December academic session.
The students can take admission in a distance learning program admission, both online and offline.
IDE- Cost of Application Form , Course Duration
- The cost of online application form is INR 200, and for offline application is INR 100 or INR 150.
- The University of Madras has established many admission centres and learning centers all over India because of the growing demand for Distance Education.

- E-Prospectus: The prospectus and application form can be downloaded from the University website www.ideunom.ac.in. The students who have downloaded the e prospects are required to submit the application fee ( Rs 100) at the time of submission of the application form.
- By Post: The prospectus and admission form can be obtained by post by writing to the distance education cell of the University along with a demand draft of Rs 150 payable at Chennai drawn in favour of The Director, IDE, University of Madras. Chennai.
