MahaDBT (Direct Benefit Transfer), also known as AapleSarkar DBT, is an online scholarship portal launched by the Government of Maharashtra. Thirty-eight post-matric scholarships feature on this portal. Administered by different government departments, DBT scholarships are aimed to help students who are citizens of the state and belong to reserved categories. The portal helps to maintain transparency while ensuring that the expenditure of the scholarships is adequately implemented. The Government grants DBT Scholarship to students based on the category of the student and their merit.

MahaDBT Scholarship Registration Process
To register to MahaDBT, you must ensure that you have scanned copies of all important documents like mark sheets, income certificates, etc. Three methods for MahaDBT Scholarships are given below.
- UID based registration

- Go to the official MahaDBT website given below
- Click on the “How to Apply” option on the home screen.
- Choose between UID Based Registration and Non-UID Based Registration.
UID Based Registration
If you have UID Based Registration, the next step is:
- Enter the details of your Aadhar number.
- Select the OTP option and click “Send OTP.”
- An OTP will be sent to the phone number linked to the Aadhar number.
Non-UID Based Registration
If you chose the Non-UID based registration, the next step is:
- Enter a valid email address.
- Click on “Get OTP” to receive a verification number via mail.
- Provide the details of the verification number.
- Enter your phone number and click on “Get OTP.”
- Provide the OTP that is received on your number.
- Fill up the form that appears on the screen.
- Click “Save.”
- You will be successfully registered.
New Applicant Registration
The third way for registering to MahaDBT is:
- Go to the official MahaDBT website given below
- Click on “New Applicant Registration.”
- Enter the details in the fields that have been provided.
- An OTP for verification will be sent to the email and phone number you provide.
- Enter the OTP in the given fields.
- Click “Register.”
- The UID registration page will be displayed.
- Follow the steps mentioned under UID Based registration.
- Create a new username and provide a password for future logins.
- You have successfully registered to MahaDBT.
MahaDBT Scholarship Login Guide
The steps to log into MahaDBT are:
- Go to the official MahaDBT website
- Click on “Applicant Login” on the right side of the screen.
- Enter the username and password you have provided during the registration process.
- Click on the “Login” button.
- You will successfully be logged in to MahaDBT until you log out or close the window.
How to Recover MahaDBT Login or Username ?
Students who forget their username have the option of resetting it. The steps to recover the username or login name are:
- Go to the official login portal of the theMahaDBT website, or click on https://mahadbtmahait.gov.in/login/login.
- Click “Forgot Username.”
- Fill up the form that appears by providing accurate details.
- Click on the “Get Username” option.
- The username will be sent to the registered mobile number.
- Store the information regarding the username properly for future references.
MahaDBT Password Reset Procedure
In case of security reasons, the password to your MahaDBT login page can easily be reset. To do so, follow the steps below:
- Go to the official login portal of the MahaDBT website, or click on https://mahadbtmahait.gov.in/login/login.
- Click the “Forgot Password” option.
- Enter the details of your username.
- An OTP will be sent to the registered mobile number.
- Enter the OTP received on the mobile number
- Enter the old password on the window that appears.
- Enter the new password in the given fields.
- Click on “Change Password.”
- The password has successfully been reset.
It is important to note that while resetting your password, the new password must contain one symbol and be alphanumeric.
Documents Required for DBT Scholarship Application
As mentioned above, students will have to keep scanned copies of important documents at hand. The important documents that candidates must ensure they have are:
- Domicile certificate
- Income certificate
- HSC and SSC certificates
- Affidavit and Aadhar
- PAN card
- Fee receipt
- College bonafide certificate
- Caste certificate
- CAP allotment letter
- Hostel certificate
- Scanned photograph of a candidate in JPEG format.
MahaDBT Application Process
Students who want to apply for DBT scholarship from the MahaDBT portal can follow the steps below:
- Login to MahaDBT by using the steps above.
- A list of scholarships will appear on the screen.
- Choose the scholarship to apply for.
- Provide all the required details on the form that appears.
- Upload the documentsClick “Submit” to submit the application form.
- You can also take a print out of the application for future references.
How to Redeem a MahaDBT Scholarship?
Students who have applied for DBT scholarship can redeem the scholarship by following the steps given below.
- You will receive a link on the registered mobile number to redeem your scholarship.
- Once you click on the link, you will be taken to the MahaDBT login page.
- Provide login details.
- Click on the “My Applied Schemes” option.
- Click on the “Redeem” option if you have not redeemed the scholarship.
DBT Scholarship Renewal Process
Students who cleared all examinations in the previous year or semester can renew the scholarship. To renew a scholarship, follow the steps below:
- Follow the steps mentioned above to login to your MahaDBT page.
- Select the “Current Course” option.
- Add the new semester or year that you are entering.
- Add the details of your last examination.
- Upload the mark sheet, hostel details, and any other required documents that have been mentioned.
- Choose the current scheme that provides your scholarship.
- Click “Yes” to renew your application.
- Click “Submit” to complete the renewal process.
Scholarships Available on MahaDBT or AapleSarkar DBT
As mentioned above, 38 scholarships are offered to the students of Maharashtra. Different departments of the state government offer these scholarships. To receive a scholarship, students must fulfil the eligibility criteria mentioned for a particular scholarship. Students belonging to different categories with different backgrounds in society are eligible for different scholarships. Linking the Aadhar number will give better security to the beneficiary and ensure that the scholarship stipend is transferred straight into the bank account linked to the Aadhar. - How to check the status of the application after applying for a scholarship?
To track the status of the application, click the “Application Tracking” option after log in to the portal. - Can the Scholarship Application form be edited after submission?
Yes, the application form can be edited at any time. - What to do if the schooling details are not found on the drop down menu?
If the details of your schooling like name of school, board, etc. cannot be found, the details will have to be provided manually. - How to know if the scholarship has entered the bank account?
As long as the mobile number is linked to your bank account, you will receive updates from the bank regarding any credited money. - How to make digital payments when more than one account is linked to the Aadhar number?
You will be given a choice for which bank account to link to MahaDBT for the payments to be made. - Is Aadhar necessary for DBT?
The government of Maharashtra encourages its citizens to make an Aadhar card. This will make it more convenient for fund transfers. MahaDBT will direct applicants to apply for an Aadhar card if they do not have one already.
