Mahaagri Admission or Maharashtra Agriculture Admission is meant for students who want to pursue Professional Agriculture Courses (UG & PG) from the affiliated colleges of Maharashtra. MCAER (Maharashtra Council of Agricultural Education and Research) has been entrusted with the responsibility of conducting the Agriadmission process for Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses in the State.

Every year, the MCAER releases the notification of admission to various professional undergraduate & postgraduate courses in the field of Agriculture in Maharashtra.

The registration has already commenced, and the Agriadmission process has been released for the academic year 2023-2024  by the Maharashtra Council of Agricultural Education and Research (MCAER).

Under the Mahaagri Admission, students can apply to study various undergraduate & postgraduate courses in Professional Agriculture. B. Sc. and B.Tech courses in various specializations are available for admission in UG courses.

As the name suggests, all the courses are related to Agriculture. If a student is interested in Agriculture or has some previous Agriculture experience, he or she should look into applying for the Mahaagri Admission.

It is highly recommended that before applying for any course, the candidate should check out the official prospectus of the course on the official website of Mahaagri Admission. It will help the candidate to understand the course structure and prospects.

Mahaagri Admission Eligibility Criteria

Many students in the country are interested in studying Agricultural Engineering and subjects related to agricultural sciences. However, before you think about applying to any of the colleges affiliated to Maharashtra Council of Agricultural Education and Research, you must check the eligibility criteria. It should be mentioned that the mandatory requirement must be fulfilled to be eligible for the course.

The General Educational Qualification required for all the Courses is mentioned below:

  • The candidate must have the pass certificate of HSC (Class 12).
  • The candidate must have scored at least 50% in class HSC to become eligible for pursuing studies in agriculture.
  • For SC/ST candidates, there is a relaxation of 10%, that is, students of these reserved categories can pursue the course with 40% marks in HSC.
  • The minimum age limit to apply is 16 years.

B.Sc. in Agriculture or Horticulture

The interested candidate must have passed class 12 with any one of the following subject combinations:

  • Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology (PCMB).
  • Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics (PCM).
  • Inter-Agriculture.

Along with the subjects mentioned above, English should be a primary subject in Class 12.

B.Sc. in Forestry

To apply for studying B.Sc. in Forestry, a candidate needs to pass class 12 (HSC) with any one of the subject combinations mentioned below:

  • Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology (PCMB).
  • Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics (PCM).
  • Inter-Agriculture.

English should be a compulsory subject in HSC (Class 12) and the subject combinations mentioned above.

Agriculture Engineering/ B.Tech in Food Technology

To be eligible to study either Agriculture Engineering or B.Tech in Food Technology, the candidate should have passed class 12 with any of the under-mentioned subject combinations:

  • Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology (PCMB).
  • Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics (PCM).

English should be a mandatory subject in HSC (Class 12)to be eligible for Agriculture Engineering or B.Tech in Food Technology.

B.Sc. in Community Science/ B.Tech in Agricultural Bio-Technology

If you want to apply for studying either B.Sc. in Community Science or B.Tech in Agricultural Bio-Technology, you need to have passed class 12 with any one of the following subject combinations:

  • Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology (PCMB).
  • Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM).
  • Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB).

Along with the subjects mentioned above, English should also be a compulsory subject in Class 12 (HSC) to be eligible.

Documents Required for Maha Agri Admission

The documents mentioned below are mandatory for Mahaagri Admission. Candidates are advised to keep these documents handy while applying online for Mahaagri Admission. The physical verification of these documents will also be conducted.

  • HSC (Class 12) Mark-Sheet. If % is not mentioned on the Mark-Sheet, it must be mentioned on a separate document counter-signed by the Principal.
  • Scorecard of the Entrance Exam.
  • Mark-Sheet of Class 10.
  • School Leaving Certificate.
  • Students pursuing any courses in any Agricultural University in Maharashtra State need to submit a Bonafide Certificate.
  • Migration Certificate.
  • Domicile Certificate.
  • Caste Certificate (if applicable).
  • Achievement Certificate (if applicable).

Agri Research Centers

The State has 82 Agricultural Research Centers which are operating in different climatic zones of the State. The Agri Research Centers are responsible for the research and analysis on various types of crops, soil analysis, crop production technology and Research work in Agriculture filed.

Krishi Vigyan Kendra 

The Krishi Vigyan Kendra is responsible for providing training to the officers and the staff of the State Agricultural Department on the latest Agricultural methods and technology.
