When it comes to the Kerala University PG Admissions, the University organizes an all India entrance test. Kerala University PG Admission Procedure
Visit the official website of Kerala University and apply for the desired course by paying the required fee. For the PG course, the fee for general candidates is Rs. 600 and Rs. 300 for students from reserved categories. The fee can be either paid online or through the challan at the nearest SBI branch.
Kerala University PG Online Admission Procedure

- Click on “Online Registration Portal” on the home page
- For Kerala University Online Admission, enter the details of the student like Name of Applicant, Date of Birth, Gender, Fee Amount, Admission Category, etc. and click on Submit
- Make the Registration Fee through Bank Challan & upload the scanned payment slip in the prescribed format.

PG Entrance Test Centers:

PG Admission in Kerala University for M.Tech, M. Arch, M. Plan, MBA, and MCA
For the MBA course, both full-time and part-time, the eligible candidates are selected on the basis of their score in KMAT, CAT, or CMAT examinations. The rating of the test is weighted and added with the scores of Group Discussion and Personal Interview before producing the final merit list of selected candidates. For other postgraduate courses, the University of Kerala conducts an entrance examination of its own. However, it should be mentioned here that candidates who have a valid GATE score can apply to the M Tech Course without appearing for the University entrance.
Note:
- Like every other university offering the M Tech course, the candidate must have a valid GATE score to secure admission at the University.
- MBA – 2 years full-time course, candidates seeking admission must have valid scores in either of the following exams:
- KMAT
- CAT
- CMAT
Just having a valid score may not be sufficient as the exam will be followed by sessions of Group Discussions and Personal Interview, where the candidate will be judged on his or her entire profile before promising admission.
Marks Division for PG Courses for Final Merit List:
The raw scores of the exams are not considered for admission to the Post Graduate Programs at the University of Kerala. The final Merit list will be prepared by taking 80% of the undergraduate marks, 10% for work experience, and 10% from the interview.
How to calculate index marks for PG Admission in Kerala University?
In the cases where more than one candidate obtaining equal index marks, then the candidate who has scored more marks in part IIII main will be placed higher in the rank list. In case of a tie, the candidate who has scored more marks in Part I and part II in English will be given more weightage.

Kerala University PG Admission for MA, MSc, M.Com, M.Ed, M.P.Ed, MSW, and MPA Programs.
To gain admission to the University of Kerala for PG Courses like MA, MSc, M.Com, M.Ed, M.P.Ed, MSW, and MPA, the candidate must have a minimum 50% aggregate in aggregate in his or her graduation. 50% is the minimum requirement for graduation at the University. However, admission is not just based on the obtained marks in graduation, the marks obtained in the University Entrance Exam, personal interview and relevant work experience are also taken into consideration before producing the final merit list of eligible candidates.
For applying to any one of the above courses, the candidate must visit the official website of the University of Kerala and fill up the admission form on-line. The form fee is INR 500 for General and INR.250 for reserved candidates. Moreover, for applying to additional subjects, the candidate under general has to pay INR 100 per subject and INR 50 for reserved categories per subject.
M. Ed Admission
The M. Ed degree courses offered by the University of Kerala have received the affiliation of COLLEGES OF TEACHERS AFFILIATION and functions under that organization.
Like many other post-graduation courses, the final merit list is prepared with 80% weightage to the marks obtained at the graduate level with 10% marks for work experience and 10% for the personal interview. Kerala University M. Ed is one of the most sought after courses of the University.
MSW Admission
For the MSW program, the application form is to be filled online on the official website with the payment of Rs 400 (For reserved categories -INR 200) through online mode or at the university cash counter. Duly filled form along with desired documents should be sent to the Registrar, University of Kerala.
Marks Distribution in the Selection of MSW Program.
The final admission to the MSW program will be based on 40% weightage to the marks in the qualifying degree examination and 30% and 15% each for the score obtained in the entrance exam and GD/PI, respectively.
MPhil and PhD Admission
The admission process of The University of Kerala to their PhD and MPhil programs is conducted through an entrance examination. 55% marks in the master’s level are mandatory for entry into the doctoral programs under the University of Kerala.
Kerala University MPhil Program:
For the MPhil program, the application form is required to be submitted online with a registration fee of INR 500. (INR 250 for reserved categories). The fees can be deposited in the university bank account (University A/C No: 67153233669 ) in any branch of State Bank of India using challan. The fees can also be remitted through online payment methods like Credit Card, Debit card, or Net-Banking.
For Admissions to PhD Program:
The application can be submitted online along with the registration fee of INR 520 through challan receipt/ cash receipts/DD ( In case of DD, an additional amount of Rs 10 has to be paid as service charge). All remittances made by DD should be drawn in favour of ‘the Finance Officer, University of Kerala, Thiruvananthapuram’ payable at SBI Service Branch, Thiruvananthapuram and on District Co-operative Banks payable at State Co-operative Bank Head Office Branch, Thiruvananthapuram.
